i insisted on taking
a shift because she
has early work stuff
and i’ll be sick either
way so i get the call
him crying through
the monitor and get
some more medicine
in him somehow and
get him back to sleep
somehow and am
vibrating with energy
even though sick and
i wonder why if i’m
jus grateful to be here
and honored to be a
part of anything is it
all the visions of
terminal humans going
through it all or is it
just the dr show i watch
with my wife while
skating the sonic realm
reminding me about
all that is most precious
in this short glimpse
of being awake and aware
