6 and i play chess
on the picnic table
in the backyard
sunshine while
toddler naps 6
still learning the
energy of the
characters but
intuitively making
some very good
moves and also
terrible blunders
just like me when
i used to play
HECTOR the
chessmaster
everyday for
8 hours a day
he beat me
silly and i
would learn a
lot and buy him
coffee and snacks
and every once in
a while he would
spot me a piece
or two and still
best me but i did
win one time with
a handicap and
he praised me
up and down for
the little operation
i came up with
